I hope it fixes the white dot overlay on the HUD at surround/eyefinity resolutions ...

TW1 didn't have any DLC that added to the main campaign, they were all standalone. Unless you are talking about the enhanced edition, which every game patched too. My EE save imported fine.

Until you give me the difficulty you were playing on and your techique/spec that you took in chapter 1 then i'm calling BS. You are probably on easy. There's no way you just rushed through the game using only your sword on normal in chapter 1 unless you reloaded a million times, or a very amazing player. The sword combat is delayed, it has nothing to do with skill. You get clipped when rolling out, and get 2 shot because it counts as getting hit in the back, and you can't buy the talent that reduces that until level (7?). There are tons of posts online of people that can't even play the game on easy.

I can tell you right now I am playing for my first time through on normal and have used nothing but my sword and quin.

I found out real quick that this game is no Dynasty Warriors and you can't run in swinging your sword like a mad man. Roll in hit hit....roll out. I am just getting ready to enter Chapter 2 and have had no issues even when 15 on 1 using that strat.

I am too lazy to use bombs and traps.

And the mobs don't swarm around you? I roll out and by the time the roll animation is done they are already on top of me again, if I don't roll again they surround me which results in death. I find myself constantly rolling because the mobs move at the exact same speed as me. Half the time I am unable to cast Quen. Roll out, cast Quen, get hit while casting Quen. There's no possible way for me to do it faster.

Not to mention some of the mobs tend to pre-swing when they see me coming at them, causing me to sometimes get hit a bunch right when I get into range. If I block that initial attack the other mobs will quickly swarm me during that... then I have to roll again, so I deal no damage.

I think theres something going on here. There are people claiming the game is easy, and others claiming the game is too hard. Perhaps some games are affected by a bug that's causing the AI to be more agressive than intended. Did you import a save from TW1? Perhaps the game is harder when you import? I wonder if thats what they mean by "Fixed imports".

Sounds like we are playing different games. I beat God of War 1/2/3 on the hardest difficulty which required better reaction times than this game, so I don't think it's a skill level problem.

I'm going to have to agree that the game is difficult. I started it on hard and I've reloaded like 50 times in the prologue. Of course, half the time when I click parry it doesn't do anything... let's hope the patch fixes that.

You sure you have Vigor? Everytime you block it takes a section of vigor, and you only have 2 sections at the start. Casting magic also takes it.

I've heard of people claiming blocking doesn't always work (even with vigor), but i've never experienced it. It seems like it's way to picky though, the guy has to be directly in front of you for you to block it.

What exactly do they mean by this patch fixing The Witcher 1 import? Did all of my save file from Witcher 1 not import correctly?...how would I even know?

I know my saves imported correctly because I had my Raven armor, Aerondight sword and Gwalhir sword available in my inventory. I had those equipped in the first game before I completed it last week.

I like the sword fighting in this game but it is difficult and pretty unfair for Geralt when he gets manhandled by peasants, even on Easy. What I hate is having to roll on the floor constantly to pick each AI apart and the Parry doesn't always work. It just doesn't look impressive and it reminds me of Gothic 4's tedious rolling to dodge opponents.

You're right. I would have preferred a Gothic 2/Risen approach to combat.
