How to extend accross three displays?

Hi folks, I think I know what the problem is, I just want to confirm.

I have two monitors hooked up to my MSI 6950, one with DVI one with the DVI to VGA adapter. I bought an HDTV and tried hooking that up via the HDMI port, but catalyst OR windows wont let me extend the desktop to the HDTV!

I think I need to buy a mini display port to HDMI adater for this to work, but I am not sure.

Any help would appreciated. Thanks

I think so since displayport is a different signal i believe and you can only have 2 digital signals or something on each video card like VGA, DVI, HDMI kind

Correct, You need to use the displayport to have three monitors.

You're going to need an active mini DP to DVI adapter for it to work.

Any Eyefinity certified adapter should work.

you can do x3 DVI with a HDMI-DVI x2 splitter and the normal DVI I THINK
other then that you need a DP

AMD/ATI has it up on their site

i believe you're semi incorrect, he'll need an active hdmi to display port adapter, not a mini dp to dvi.

As stated you will NEED to use one of the DP ports. the HDMI is shared with one of the DVI's so that wont work that way.

No....eyefinity requires the DP port to be used.

You can have it configured in any of the following configurations:

1x DP
1x HDMI
1x DVI

1x DP
2x HDMI

1x DP
2x DVI

If you don't have a native DP monitor you will need an active adapter like the one I linked to.
