It's always good to have an AV installed on Linux anyway. Wouldn't want to inadvertently give a windows machine a virus, would we?

I have been using avast for the past month but my free trial is running out in 4 days and i will not renew, too much random prompts to give permission to things that dont need my permission to execute. Before that i used AVG and i had no complaints except that it wasnt that effecient with resources and sometimes midgame it felt the need to run random scans and drop FPS to sub 10. Im now in the market for a good one.

Is there a specific reason as to why MSE is so hyped? Was there a recent AV test that showed MSE noticeably ahead of the competition?

What else do you use besides antivirus? I prefer a host intrusion prevention system in combination with AV, by using Comodo internet security. So I highly recommend it.
