GTX 560 vs. GTX 560 Ti

Thread Starter
The new non-Ti version of the GTX 560 seems quite good. Slightly lower performance but much lower price.

I am helping a friend with a PC build and kinda of deciding between the MSI GTX 560 Ti HAWK ($255) vs. the new Asus GTX 560 DirectCU II OC ($195).

Anybody have experience with the non-Ti version? My friend does not OC his GPU's.

Even if he did OC, I would still go for the 560ti everytime. You can find 560 ti's on sale for $190-$220 easily.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&IsNodeId=1&Description=560%20ti&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=20

That Zotac comes in at $199 after rebate, until a couple days ago, the EVGA was $190, ect.

I'm partial to the Hawk if you look at my sig, but if he somehow has need for a 2gb framebuffer then go for the ATI card.

I'd say go with the GTX 560 Ti, there's a $220 eVGA on newegg.

Open box NewEgg 560 Ti TF2 deal for $183. It goes on sale pretty often during the week. My only concern was warranty and it registered with MSI without a problem. I'm going to keep harping on this when a thread like this comes up. It's a good discount.

Hawk. I'm partial as well, but the overclock on the beast almost brings it up to 570 speeds out of the box. The 560 isn't worth the money for the performance put against the Hawk.

The 560 (non-Ti) is identical to the 1GB GTX 460 (32 ROP, 336 CUDA cores, 256-bit mem bus, etc). It just has higher stock clocks.

If you're considering a 560, a factory OC'd 460 is a much better "value" buy.

The 560 Ti OTOH is 10-15% faster clock for clock.

go the Ti for teh differance of $20 $30 why get a lesser card
