Very simple. The Blues have a very distinctive feel to them. For someone who is buying their first mech, they really want to feel a difference, and of course the click is another distinguishing characteristic. Blacks aren't really suitable for everyone even though they feel quite meaty, and Browns are pretty boring to type on, and there are more than a few people over the years (myself included) who've typed on a Brown switch keyboard and were completely underwhelmed by them.
So yeah, it's a clever choice, but mainly for marketing purposes.
As for the double tap thing, I remember discovering the double tap issue about five minutes into using my first Blue Cherry keyboard, and this was long before the issue was really discussed at all (I hadn't heard of it at all until I posted on Geekhack after noticing the problem). I was able to put up with it, although I found it somewhat unideal. Some find them absolutely terrible to play on, I think they are probably in a minority. Some people don't really notice it. It does however definitely exist - anyone who has opened up a Blue Cherry switch can see it in action.Edited by ch_123 - 6/3/11 at 11:40am
