phenom 2 965 @ 4.3ghz questions. - Page 3

Yes. Leave the reference clock at 200 and push the cpu multi till you find a stable clock. I would try 21.5 with something like 1.475v. Run some IBT then if it passes lower it again till it fails then you should have a stable core clock. After that you can start using your cpu/nb multi to increase the IMC speed.

Once you have that finish it off with a good testing on prime 95.

Excellent mix of Multi + FSB in your overclock, the fsb is important for increasing the HT speed And lowering the latency between the IMC and ram-which also serves to increase speed.
Well done, just get your temps lower and your golden!
I would be concerned about touching 63c-mine BSOD's at 65!
A couple of decent fans might help,or mounting your rad by the front intake as opposed to the rear exhaust apertures.

I had my 965@4ghz and 1.5vcore. Temps where idle 38ish and load max after prime was 61. I think no worries, ive read in forum bout some oc well go for it 24/7, u prob change cpu that often anyway. Just think about those vrms, got temp and sinks on them?
