Watercool 6850

I am planning on starting to watercool next month or 2, and was wondering if it would be worth it to watercool my xfx 6850. Thanks in advance.

I say don't bother. It's not worth it on that gpu. I would rather do a cpu only loop. Also I sugest getting a xpsc kit. They are the best bang for the buck watercooling setups they are anywhere from 130-200 so they are pretty cheap too. I really like mine. If you have any other questions just ask thumb.gif

How long do you plan to keep this card. If you wc it you want to use it for a couple of yrs.
Also how high of an oc do you want to do on it.
You could wc that graphics card and the cpu with a rx360 with gentle typhoons with no problem at all

Well I'm wanting to get the 800d, and the rx360 kit, and was thinking before I fill it with water go ahead and get the 6850 cooled at the same time so I wouldn't have to do it later. I would prefer to have it last a couple years, the only game I play on it is wow and it does it at max settings, except for shadow detail which has to be on low. It seems like it runs really hot tho, but I'm no expert, so I figured water cool it since I'm goin to do the cpu.

what would u recommend, I was looking at a ssd. But besides that I would like highend parts, not really a need tho.

A ssd is a good idea, or another 6850.

would another 6850 be a big improvement since there not that expensive

depends on how good your aircooling is.. you may gain quite a bit on the OC.

ie- lots of folks run 1000core on 6850's with water.. ~900core on air for the most part [especially if your talking stock cooling]. You will see good gains from another 100mhz on the core.. but with the money invested you could most likely pickup a 6970 instead
