Clarkdale and Pci-Express frequency

Hi. This is my first post here. Sorry for my bad english. I have a question about i3-530 processor. Why i cannot set PCI-Express frequency in bios ? My motherboard is ASUS P7H55-M. I got stable 4ghz (20x200) with box cooling and i stock voltages but im worried about graphic card and hdd. I know pci-e must be around 100 but how if i cannot change this in bios. I found something in specification of my motheboard : - PCI Express frequency tuning from 100MHz up to 200MHz at 1MHz increment (only for Lynnfield CPU) Can you guys explain me this ? I dont need set PCI-E when using Clarkdale ? It is safe ? Thank you for all replies!

You shouldn't need to change the PCI Express frequency, but if you do i suggest not going over 110. There's no performance advantage to running it faster, but generally it won't cause any harm if it goes up a bit. All it may do is help stability...may.

Hope this helped

But why i cant change PCI-e frequency in Clarkdale CPU, when in Lynnfield is it possible. I think mine freq is much higher than 110 when im overclocking and that's why i am afraid.

I think that the chipset just doesn't have that option. I wouldn't worry about it if i were you. I don't think it will automatically change when you overclock. It should be defaulted to 100 if anything. And since your oc is stable it doesn't matter. Only be concerned if the pc crashes or something.

I agree, since the option isn't there don't bother thinking about it.
