GPU overclock unstable, or driver?

Thread Starter
6950 unlocked shaders 880/1375 1.1v

Tested 2 hours OCCT GPU test shader complexity 3 zero errors
Then at least 3 loops of heaven 2.5
Then played about 2 hours of BFBC2 1920x1080

This morning I started playing BFBC2 in eyefinity 6080x1080 and about 20min it froze. No artifacts or anything just frozen image had to hard boot.

any ideas?

turn off gpu-z or sapphire trixx or msi afterburner.

any gpu monitoring program will freeze bfbc2. something to do with punkbuster.

It'll be hardware monitoring programs causing these crashes, less likely your GPU.

Ya I had to completely uninstall trixx cause I locked my system up so much.

Shoot trixx is the only way I can get power consumption +20% in CCC to stick with an overclock over 840/1325

If I just set the OC and close Trixx will that do the job?

I don't know if Trixx is the same, but AB will hold my overclocks in after I've closed the program out until I reboot again.

With my computer, I've set the power consumption to 20+ and applied it to both graphics cards first, then I'll go back to AB and set the clocks higher and lock them in with the profile.

That being said, I A. still get BFBC2 crashes. I'm at wit's end, as I'll close out GPU-Z, CoreTemp, and AB. B. Since I don't mess with voltages for my OCing, I'm wondering if I should just go with CCC registry tweaking and overclocking that way. If it works as it should, then it would be a heck of a lot easier than messing with AB. C. I've got a logitech G15 keyboard, so I've been REALLY sad that they've got this annoying PB crashing thing. ARGH! I miss BFBC2
