Thread Starter
Hi all,

Just thought i'd introduce myself, currently reading through all the noob threads and its already hurting my head lol. I'm new to overclocking and have only really used the OC software that came with my mobo so i think its time to dig deeper since its pretty much auto tune!

any guidance on my below rig would be greatly appreciated

cheers!

well heres my first attempt!

basically just tuned the RAM to 8-8-8-24 using 2T CR
turned off asus turbo boost
used auto tuned for the first go just to see how it works (Turbo V Evo)

Sitting at 32 degrees on idle. I really wanted to get into 4.0ghz

is it worth trying to pursue further at this stage until i learn more?

The easiest way to learn is to try. As long as you don't go setting your voltages past the safe levels and monitor your temperature, you can just try stuff out while you get the hang of it. Reading helps too, but I've found that in computing, the best way to learn stuff is to do it.
