Why would you be interested in BF3 if you think EA is a crap company? Wouldn't you logically think that BF3 would be crap if EA was a crap company?

Wait so what are the prices you pay for a game on the PC from EA vs Activision?

Here in the states the idiots jumped on the Activision bandwagon and are pricing their games at 60 bucks a pop now.

Eh, games are cheap nowadays compared to what they used to be.

haha holy hell, MK3 for a hundred bucks?

Sad to say though, wages are going way down, at least here in IL they are. Welders alone used to make close to 20 bucks an hour if not more. Now it's hard to find a place that starts you out at 11. I remember when people who had a forklift license would get paid good money, 15+. Now you make min wage.

Correction, it's made by DICE, a group of develoeprs that wasn't always under the hands of EA, it wasn't until 04 that EA pretty much bought them

I usually buy games based on who the developer is, not publisher..unless it's UBIsoft/Activision of course

You really have to follow how EA treats their employees and their franchises to understand my dislike for them. I still buy games that have their logo on it cause they're generally good. Hellgate London, Deadspace, Dragon Age 1, but those wer all retail disks. What I'm saying is, if BF 3 is bound to this EA store thing like say L4D is to steam I will not buy it.

I never said it wasn't made by DICE, but EA entirely owns DICE and gets to make any decision they want regarding games developed by DICE.

At the rate the Internet is being hacked, I can't see how anyone would be comfortable with any kind of Cloud services. Steam, the largest digital distributor of games isn't immune to attacks. I've switched over my purchases to hard copies, because I shouldn't have to fight for my account back if hacked. There are a few people here that lost hundreds of dollars. Just saying that owning a retail copy is safer than logging into a client to retrieve your games.

How do I manage games? I have a games folder with shortcut icons. That's it.
Something that simple doesn't require Steam to manage.

I lost my account a few weeks back due to steam guard. Took me a week to get my account back cause I didn't have access to the email address anymore. All those games I paid for, that were mine, were unavailable to me.

If EA expects me to use their service to buy PC games for my PC they better not publish any more watered down BS games based off of those old ass consoles. Hey EA, you want to start a PC service? Publish PC games or Fck off.

How is this new? Don't they already have this? It's just Download Manager with a new name, right?

B. Stuff I've previously purchased can be downloaded through it.
The current EA Download Manger has been good for a long while now. It's been more basic (and thus, simple, in a good way though) than Steam, lacking the extra features and also only selling EA's own games, but I give credit where it is due, just as I give discredit where it is due. The recent pushes EA has made with the Download Manager get good opinions from me. I like it.

Now if you mean the very original EA Download Manager from like 2006 or whatever, yeah, that was pretty horrid. You couldn't download it after so much time and all that.

I thought most of them left?

Command & Conquer 4 was horrid, but I love Command & Conquer 3 (I still play it heavily). Red Alert 3, while I wasn't fond of it personally, I can't say it was a bad game. People whine if they change it, and they whine if they keep it the same. If they make a true and good Renegade 2 style game, I'll nearly forgive it all.

Maxis did it first as well.

Like I said, they whine if they keep it the same (not that it is). The game does a good blending of mixing the old formula with new things. Again, hate EA's business practice all you want, but I give credit where it is due. Many of their studios are turning out alright games as of late. Years ago, they were where Activision is now, having disliked business practices and making poor games. At least the games are decent. EA itself may be disliked, but the crews making the games isn't doing too badly in my opinion.

The third one in The Sims series is a great game. If it has anything at fault, it is possibly the bugs/performance, not the game itself. The game has alot of content when it's expanded and has made many changes so I can't complain. They're slightly overpriced (business practice, not the developers' fault), but you do get alot of content versus most other games, especially these days, so again, I can't really complain.

I applaud EA developers and wish them well with this move, and no, I'm not a shareholder/investor/employee/whatever of EA. I just wish them well. Competition is good for us.

If $1 = 1 PHP

An example(This are the prices when they are just released and are Hard Copies)

SC2 and MW2 would be around $70 HIgher than USA

EA Dead Space 2 and Dark Spore are $26-$28.
Valve games are in the same range but I dont have the latest game prices.

That's the reason why I only buy EA Games right now.

(Dont really like any current Valve games but I still like that they price their games the same as EA)
