Computer not working.. suggestions please

Thread Starter
What happens:
I turn on the computer and the monitor receives no signal.

What I've tried:
  • The cables are all secure.
  • I've tried multiple monitors and monitor cables.
  • I've tried every possible RAM configuration (unless both are dead)
  • I've tried a different graphics card.
  • I've made sure that everything is spinning i.e. the HDD, GPU, cpu fan
  • I've plugged the HDD into another computer and scanned for viruses (no issues)

I'm not sure what else I should do but everything I've tried has still yielded the same result. No response from the monitor.

Great that you made such a big troubleshooting at start

Anyways some more information would be nice as for example

Which cable connectors are you using (VGA, HDMI, DVI) ?

Update:
  • I hear no beep on start up.
  • after 3ish minutes neither caps nor numlock light up upon press on keyboard that I know works.
  • i have reset the cmos (forgot i did that first go round)
  • I have tried VGA, HDMI and DVI
And as I've said earlier, I've tried multiple (3 monitors) all of which work otherwise. As well as 2 different monitor cables (also which work other wise). I've also tried an add in gpu.

ok well i would suggest to take out the ram, disconnect the hds, take out the video card, and all other cards so that only the cpu is left then turn it on. u want to hear beeping! thats showing that it not seeing ram. if you do not get beeping then its ur mobo or powersupply. if u do then i would put the ram back in and just the hd that ur os is installed. no video and see what happens it should still boot. try to eliminate everything that u can

I've taken out everything and still no beep.

I think I have an extra PSU sitting around somewhere...

Or maybe my motherboard can't beep?

The extra PSU i have only has a 20 pin main plug when this computer was using a 24 pin plug. IS that ok to try?

#6 The problem for me seems to be the motherboard, as the power supply is often not the issue. However what's wrong about it i am not aware of. I have tryed to google it for abit, with no useful informations.

if this was the result of some overclocking attempts, have you tried resetting CMOS?
any time I overshoot things and cant get a boot or beep, first thing I do is reset cmos using the jumper. If there is no jumper in place, you can just short the correct leads with a screwdriver for 5-15 seconds with power plug disconnected. set the jumper back to norm and reconnect power. should boot.
