Dear Members,

My name is Oscar, I am purchasing a gigabyte 6850 radeon for my pc and i am wandering if it will work with my setup. I have been offered to buy 750w psu and gigabyte 6850 card £135 all together delivered or just the card for £110.
Pc shop says stock cooler should be fine but might be risky. I am happy to buy a new psu because current causes quite a bit of noise, well I think it is the psu causing the noise.
Psu is what im not sure about, not sure even if any new one will be compatible In general I am open for suggestions

Setup
Base processor
Phenom-9550 (A) 2.2 GHz (95W)
2000 MHz HyperTransport 1.0
Socket AM2+
Chipset
GeForce 6150SE nForce 430
Motherboard
Manufacturer: Asus
Motherboard Name: M2N68-LA
HP/Compaq motherboard name: Narra3-GL8E
Power supply
460W (stock)

link with more details about the system

Hi
Psu offered is winpower 750w, however I am happy to go for antec or croshair make.
By stock I meant it is one which came with a pc originally, shown in a picture.
Cheers

Stock CPU cooler should be just fine if you dont plan on over clocking. A power supply upgrade is an ABSOLUTE must but you already know that. Winpower is not a name I would trust for my new 6850. I would recommend getting a Corsair or Seasonic. Corsair will be less expensive and probably one of the most reliable brands known to date. Here is something I would suggest.

Ive personally used this PSU in Crossfire and Solo card builds. Its pure stable power all day. Never had one fail.

Isn't the 2.2ghz base clock going to bottleneck here ?
I would try to get a decent cooler and overclock it a little higher.
I also agree on the corsair or seasonic.
There are some great antec psu too.

Hi
What do you mean by bottleneck? Not good enough for compatibility? Gaming?
I thought cpu does not affect game performance much
