i7-950 P6X58D-E Just added 6gb

Thread Starter
I have just added 6gb so now I have 12gb. Do I need to change my bios for stability? Also if I could overclock a bit more to 4.5ghz what settings i have to change

Note:I have never overclocked or know much about it.

If anything you may or may not need to bump up the qpi/dram core voltage...I have mine set to auto...but if you have any crashes that is what you need to adjust.

Also fill out your system specs...
what cooling do you have?
what temps are you at now? you may not be able to go to 4.5ghz.
You would need to increase the vcore.
Also you can enable c1e support, speedstep, and intel virtualization tech.

Add the pc info here. I don't think you're going to be able to hit 4.5ghz...i say leave it at the oc you have now and enable hyperthreading and adjust your oc from there. Here is a good temp monitor for you. http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/hwmonitor.html
Tell me your temps at idle and load, do you have any way to stress test?
