Halp!

Thread Starter
I know everyone's going to frown, but I just bought a 2x1gb set of Kingston Valuram to go in my old s939 build, along with the 2x1gb set of Kingston HyperX that I've had for a bit. Now I do have Win7 Home Premium 64bit, but it's only registering that I have 3.0gb available out of the 4gb I have installed. I installed SP1 for Win7 64bit, and it still didn't help. I reseated all 4 sticks, didn't help. Swapped them around, the hyperx in the orange slots, valuram in the yellow, and it wouldn't boot. Swapped them back, and it booted fine. The PC boots fine with all 4 sticks, so that means that all are working, correct? Again, HALP!

One may be dead, try booting up with one in at a time.

Ok, I take it you meant remove all 4 sticks, and boot with each individual stick? Edit: Pardon me if that was meant to be understood from what you said, but I'm not super hardware savvy, I'm more software.

I had a bunch of Kingston Vale Ram 1gb sticks at the lab I used to work at, and I was always having very similar problems. They were 400mhz ones. They made me want to pull my hair out. Out the end of the day I ended up having to have the boss lady buy more RAM, and not Kingston either. I was very disappointed with that batch.

The ram is probably fine. I'm thinking a bios update.
