Compact, powerful audio needed for my company

My employer is doing a potential (large) bid for a customer. We require a stereo speaker set that must be compact and able to integrate with a small computer system that has a standard motherboard analog output. This will all be mounted inside a large cabinet. The speakers will be mounted on the top or bottom of the large cabinet. I have considered using a center channel, L&R speakers, and some everyday powered computer speakers. My boss is going to Worst Buy to get a set of Bose desktop speakers and I am letting him do so, but I think that's not going to be a great idea for the long run. redface.gif

The speakers must be pretty loud. The client wants 100W, but I am unsure if that will be possible. It will be in a factory setting so they will need to be very loud. The customer wants signal tones, but also the potential to play music. They are convinced they need a speaker, but we are also trying to insist that they use a horn because we have used a horn setup in previous applications similar to this.

Is there a powered speaker setup that might meet these criteria? Price is definitely a major factor, we cannot spend a lot of money. I would like to find something that is readily available in large quantities to fill this potential order. We need to make a prototype very soon. I looked into the Swan H2, but there is no way we could get that in the quantities that we need.

I have considered these items from Parts Express:
Pyle 3" Minicube speakers
Pyle 120W Stereo Amp

This amp is good for 120W at 4ohm. I assume it will be close enough to 100W at 8 ohms. However, this is adding some unwanted complexity to the system. I am trying to find a better solution. Is there a powered sound-bar type speaker available for near $100? I think that would be a good solution. We would also need two speaker systems per unit, because they will have to be configured in a "front and back" type system that faces 2 directions.

Not sure how many your client needs, but the Energy speakers should be a great. I saw this ebay seller selling, not sure it help you out or not.

If you looking for cheap 5 channels speakers should look at this one.

Right now we need one set, but if the project gets accepted, we will need 500-1000. eek.gif
