"No VGA detected"

Thread Starter
Hello!

Just built my first computer a few days ago. Everything has worked very well, until today. When I tried to start my computer from sleepingmode, I had to turn it off for some reason. When I turned it on again, the beep for "No VGA detected" came, and I didn't get any picture at the monitor.

My Specs:
ASUS P8P67 PRO
ASUS GTX 560
Corsair Vengeance 8 GB RAM
Corsair HX750 Watt

I have no idea what's happend to it, and I've tried to reset BIOS (maybe I did it wrong, since itæs not working?), take the card out and then put it in again and switched between the to monitor cable inputs. Nothing of these attemts seem to work.

Do any of you smart guys know whats wrong, or what I can do? I'm starting to feel a little worried here frown.gif

Thank you for all help smile.gif

Here's a few things to try:

Take out the graphics card, and see if theres any dust or grease in the motherboard slot. If there is, blow it out, or you can get a can of compressed air.

Put the graphics card in a different PCIe slot.

Take out the cmos battery (it looks like a shiny circle of metal) and leave it out of the motherboard for 30 minutes or more. Make sure you unplug the power to the computer first though.

Turn the computer on and when it gets to the "no vga detected" beep, then feel if the fan on the gpu is spinning. Then leave the computer on for a minute or so, then feel if the heatsink on the gpu is getting warm at all.

Hmm. Didn't work to put it in another slot. All fans are rotating (GPU, CPU and case fans). I dont think it's something wrong with the motherboard or so, since I hear the windows sound in the speaker when I turn it on.

I'll take the battery-thingy out now, and leave it for a while smile.gif

I'm starting getting worried that the whole card is broke, and I don't wanna by a new one, when it's only a few days old :S

Does the card get warm if you leave it on?

The card does not get warm (after one hour).
BTW, the VGA_led is lit from when I click the powerbutton. The boot_device_led is lit after the beeps. Both are red.

I'd say its the GPU. If its only a few days old, you should be able to RMA it

Do you have another computer you can test it in? If it doesn't work in a different pcie slot, then I would rma it.
