HELP! Two monitors hooked to 6950 x-fire but one is not native res

Hi everyone, got a bit of an obscure problem right now and can't find anything on google.

Specs:
6950 crossfire
two dell U3011 (2560 x 1600 res)
11.5 drivers with cap2 profiles

I am using DVI cables only, both cables plugged into GPU1 and both screens are working. However, monitor 1 is displaying at native 1600p, whereas monitor 2 does not give me the option.

I want to setup eyefinity at 1600p, please help!!

I'm not an expert on this, but from what I've always heard, a Single Link DVI will only display up to 1920x1200.

In order to get 2560x1600, you will have to use either Dual Link DVI or DisplayPort.

yes, just confirmed both cables are dual-link. I can only do eyefinity 1920 x 1080 but not 1600p

If i'm not running eyefinity, top dvi port displays out 2560 x 1600, bottom dvi port can only do 1080p. They can't both do 1600p, but it's advertised to be able to I don't know what's wrong. Any help is appreciated

I believe only one of the DVI-D ports on your card is Dual Link. The other is single link.

This^^

You've got to use a display port to dual-link DVI, if they even have one available. If your monitors support display port, then no need for an adapter.

Feel free to peruse the specs of the 6950 here

EDIT:
Whatever, here are the specs, for people who just glance through threads but never go to the links to followthrough with research

"Cutting-edge integrated display support

DisplayPort 1.2
Max resolution: 2560x1600 per display
Multi-Stream Transport
21.6 Gbps bandwidth
High bit-rate audio
HDMI 1.4a with Stereoscopic 3D Frame Packing Format, Deep Color, xvYCC wide gamut support, and high bit-rate audio
Max resolution: 1920x1200
Dual-link DVI with HDCP
Max resolution: 2560x1600
VGA
Max resolution: 2048x1536"

thanks for the link. Yeah the 2nd dvi is single link only. The monitors do have display port but I don't have a DP cable lol.

Right now I have it hooked up to HDMI 1.4, which is supposed to be able to do 4096 * 2160
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI

The HDMI cable I'm using is from the box, which is HDMI 1.4a high speed 1.8 meter cable. And the 6950 specs say its hdmi output is 1.4. So I SHOULD be able to output 2560 x 1600, but the max I can get it to is 1920 x 1200. Am I interpreting the specs wrong? =S

*EDIT* Wait maybe it's because the U3011 only has 2 normal HDMI ports so it can't accept the newer hdmi cable, that's my guess.

*SOLVED* Checked my monitor's box and it has a DP cable, plugged both in perfect 1600p. Thanks for all the help!

For future references, to get 1600p working you must have the right cables! Namely dual-link DVI + Display port!!!

That's my guess as well. I'm kind of in the same situation you're in. I have a DP monitor, but no DP cable. xD
