You said that Ubuntu runs fun while Windows is problamatic.

Have you started Windows in safe mode? I dont think its the CPU overheating as it boots and runs ubuntu fine. Also check the CPU temps in the BIOS, that'll give us a rough idea of the temps.

I think you should try a Windows repair and then see.

Ok, and update to the DRAM stuff, it's still "Recovering lost DRAM size..." when I turn it on. If you need me to, i'll take pictures of certain bios screens. I just don't know why this suddenly came up after I opened my case the first time to do a repaste. CPU temp is ranging from 95 C to 99 C after watching it for a minute.

WHAT!?!?!?!?!? Your CPU temp is way tooooo high man!

Check the Heatsink properly, check if the fan is plugged in and switch off all the throttling in th BIOS.

That high temp is exactly why you're finding your comp slow, because the CPU is itself throttling down because of the high temp

Even a TIM error wont cause such high temps.

Check your Heatsink again.

All your problems hint at an extremely unstable memory subsystem. Could be a physical problem with the CPU/IMC, the DIMMs, or their sockets/slots. It could also be because of bad settings.

Re-seat the CPU and memory (make sure you are using the white slots) and manually configure timings and voltages for the ram. Do not use XMP profiles.

Something is extremely wrong here.

You likely do not have the H50s waterblock mounted correctly.

What exactly did you do when you replaced your TIM? Did you thoroughly clean off all old thermal compound before applying new stuff. Are you certain the fans and the pump on the H50 are working? Are you sure the block mounted flush to the CPU's IHS, and secured to the backplate properly?

Repasting, lol.
Your pushpins aren't all the way in, check them and make sure that they are. Same thing happened to me at first.

For the memory problem, why dont you set the DRAM voltage at 1.5v and bump up the qpi voltage a notch?

I had a feeling that those temperatures were too high. So yeah, checked the heatsink, there was a pin that wasn't in all the way. So now it's down to mid 50s. Booted it up, it did the recovering thing again, then booted normally.

Thanks. But I still get the recovering thing. I guess it just managed to boot that one time.
