Are you sure the board is not making contact with the case some place? I have seen shorts happen because of this before.

Im sure its not touching the case because its sitting on a cardboard box for testing..

And yes - i used little plastic washers that came with the block.

Well damn, that looks like a short all right. I'd stick some cardboard where ever necessary and try to boot it back up. First clean the area of the burn marks. Replace all stock cooling.

Keep a fire extinguisher nearby. If it doesn't post. Well that's up for you to decide. A lot of people care about morals on here.

With a company like EVGA won't they take it no problem?

Lets not forget Trubritar being able to RMA a Watercooled GX2 that he intentionally burned up by cutting the water to, "just because".
