Upgrading my computer

Hey guys,

Recently I've been bitten by the bug to modify my Dell XPS730, I've got a huge case to work with. I plan on keeping the i7 cpu, BUT I'm open to getting something new.
I know the i7 920 is awesome to OC and the i7 950 seem to have good things being said about them. I don't know much about how well the 940 OC's.

I'm looking at the EVGA X58 Classified 3. Although I do see so many of you using Asus. Is that mainly b/c of cost and them being so close to each other in quality and reliability? Or something I haven't read yet.

I thought about upgrading my power supply to something more, maybe a 750 watt unit.

RAM, I'm thinking Corsair Dominator 6 gigs.

A lot of it I can re-use, HDD, Disc drive.

I'd probably add some heat sinks and fans too.

What do you guys think and suggest?

If the build in your sig is up to date, first you should upgrade to win7 and get 4-6gb of ram.

That's a solid motherboard, get it if you like it and can find a good deal.

Any of the big name air coolers will work fine: Ven-X, Megahalem, Silver Arrow, NHD14, etc. People will sit here and debate which one is best forever, but the reality is that they're all within the margin of error so get whichever is in your budget and you think looks good.

What case do you have? It'll be easier for people to recommend fans if they know what you're working with.

Power supply:

Wait for a sale, you can pick that thing up for ~$130 on occasion.
Finally an update

That is my case. It's huge, about 23 inches tall. So I've got plenty of room. No mine does not have the H2C cooling system.

So yea, as you can see I've got some wiggle room.
