First computer build - data cables

Thread Starter
I just bought a Western Digital WD5000AAKS 500GB SATAII 7200RPM 16MB Cache
It is OEM it hasn't arrived yet but it is OEM so I dont know if I need to buy data cables for it so I can attach it to whatever.. I have never built a computer before and im a bit confused. Do I need to buy cables and if yes which ones? Thanks

Usually the motherboard includes two or more SATA cables if you buy it brand new retail. If you need more or want a different color you'd obviously need to buy some. I don't think I've ever bought a single IDE or SATA cable by itself in the 7 years or so I've built computers. Does that help at all or did your motherboard not include any?
