PNY Technologies, Inc. (“PNYâ€) and Asetek, the industry-leading supplier of all-in-one liquid cooling systems for computers, announced today that they are working together to bring an innovative product line of liquid cooled graphics cards to market. The goal is to deliver liquid-cooled, high-end graphics cards that far outperform equivalent air cooled models graphically, thermally and acoustically. The resulting extreme performance PNY graphics cards will come out-of-the box with an Asetek sealed water cooler already attached, making the solution very simple to install, maintenance-free and extremely reliable

Would this be something like a closed loop like a H50 coming preinstalled on the gfx card?

Yep, it's exactly what it's going to be.

It's a huge bummer though, no one really uses PNY gfx cards anymore They SHOULD just release the cooler and have it available for a bunch of video cards. I'd be so down for that.

I want a new cooler for my 5850

Most likely. Kind of like this CoolIt thing. The guy I bought one of my 580's from gave me a Coolit prototype for the gtx480, which happened to fit the 580 just fine. I ran it for a few days (before I put it under real water) and the temps where really nice compared to the stock cooling. Not as nice as pure water cooling though, but a nice solution for people who don't want a full setup.

I'm with you, I would love to be able to purchase one of these for the card maker of my choice. Maybe if these cards sell well, they will start selling the water kits by themselves.

I am all for this and I think this is where closed loop will really shine. Doing a custom loop for a processor is easy but to do a full on custom loop for processor and gpus is a little more difficult especially when you are running multiple graphic cards. I don't know why but I am more willing to accept the replacement of a processor due to a mishap then I am of multiple graphic cards. Keeping in mind that the normal customer does not spend a grand on a single processor.

This is going to be similar to Inno3D's Ichill series.
Here is their GTX580: http://www.inno3d.com/products/graph...00/gtx580.html

It is good to see more companies moving in this narrow market.

It will be quite interesting how this would work with Sli.
I've been thinking about something like this for the past few days, just a little differently. What I have in mind is a closed loop system with some sort of quick disconnect adapters on the hoses and a pair of matching quick disconnects that could just be screwed on to your choice of blocks. Keep the pump at the radiator end of this loop.
Now that I typed this out, it sounds quite doable especially with the Swiftech radiator/pump combo already on the market. Sounds like I actually had a good idea for once!
