I probably won't be using crossfire but I want to be sure that everything runs smoothly. Rendering tale alot of power and I will be doing alot of it

Your system will run smoothly on a X < 600W unit. An OC'ed 2600k and a 6850 won't consume anything near 500w at 100% full load.

Try these (from scan.co.uk, all including VAT):
XFX Pro Core 550w - 49.91
Antec EarthWatts 500w - 57.11
Seasonic S12II 520w - 59.87

If you are worried about the 500w mark, these can deliver continuous 550 watts, 500 watts, and 520 watts, respectively; and can peak at 550w or more.

will the extra wattage do any damage though? Because im getting my psu for £50 and its a corsair. If i ever want a better graphics card in the future id rather just replace that than both :/

Hmm. Lower idle efficiency? Well, not all corsair units are the best. You wouldn't need to replace the psu if it can handle the power consumption.

But at this point, it's a whatever floats your boat situation.
