[TCM]Powercolor 6870x2 coming this month at $449. - Page 2

I posted first news about this card on OCN. Then mods removed it, without notifying me. Apparently it was because the news dated to April 1.

I hope they are now ashamed.

I'm not sure what his point was since 6870 Crossfire out performs a single GTX580.

Why would you need that much power for 1080p?

1GB vram makes this useless for pretty much everything higher....

despite the price the scalability of the 6870 is extremely good by what i seen practically 100% on almost any game and if you got tri-fire time will tell how well tri-fire will do, personally 25-30% extra performance added on to the already great scalability would be nice makes for a semi-budget Tri-Fire system biggrin.gif ^-^

people who spend $500 on a card want the latest. This seems to be aimed at an extreme niche market. I got a ref 6950 for the bang for the buck but if had $500 budget on my card I would have gotten a 580 for sure. Def not some dual card with dated tech

not everyone actually would want the latest for 500 bucks some actually do seek previous gen setups (i for one look for previous gen setups) and with the history of the 6870 being a monster of a scalable video card model for the budge multicard setup also to the power requirement for a 6870 in crossfire is very efficient and minimul compared to many cards of it's gen and caliber. i was gonna get a 6870 for my setup but the one i wanted is 220 while the one i got now(460 GTX SSC) only costed me less then 190 but now that this 6870 X2 is coming out i may see about getting a Crossfire Board that supports the dual gpu's and save up for a X2 or wait for the prices to drop on them a bit more biggrin.gif. but im still keeping my SLI system tho biggrin.gifredface.gif

I don't really like it. Why won't they switch to a black PCB and make that cover look better?
