ASUS HD5770 heat problems

post #1 of 7
Thread Starter
Hey guys. I was browsing Overclock.net forum from like 2 months, but today I decided to register to ask a question.
I use my HD5770 to mine (Bitcoins), and to solve hashes temps go FREAKING high! The maximum I got was 94 celsius! Now I have my case opened with a fan that pulls fresh air, but at full load I'm still getting 85 degrees.
Is there a water cooling all in one solution like Corsair H50 but for the GPU?
Also, what the hell means TIM?

reapply new thermal paste and reseat the heatsink. those temps are too high.

TIM = thermal paste

Bitcoin mining is the shiz-nitz. I getg about 375Mhash per 5870 I got, but each of my cards only get to about 72c. I would reapply the TIM, then make sure that there is no dust blocking any of your fans or coolers.

Ok, I will try that. What about an All-in-one water cooling like H50?

I really don't know much about them. They could help, but I'm not too sure. Maybe someone else will know.

You can mod an H50 onto your graphics card but its not worth it...
