Ok so i was going through and researching for my first build, so i would have some ideas on what i wanted to do come Aug. when im finally home from Afghanistan.
And then it happend... the impulse buy.

To start i really liked a lot of silverstone's case's especially the raven. well one day reading about some i came across a link to Maingear's Shift (a Raven RV01 chassis based custom case) i love it.. search everywhere, cant buy. search ebay, whole maingear shift computer for sale that someone won from G4 tv contest brand new in box... shoot offer... buy at $1100 (turns out i had extra money on my paypal from managing 9 guys satalite internet connection over here) so i end up shelling out $960 for it. priced the parts on newegg came up to around 1300ish.

here is a copy paste from the item description off ebay

I won this computer in a contest from the G4 television show Attack of the Show. It is brand New and straight from the manufacturer with warranty. I am not a PC gamer and have really no use for this machine so I would be more than glad to sell. A quick search will reveal that this is the only Maingear Custom PC on Ebay. According to the manufacturer the worth of this PC is estimated at 2000.

now i originally intended on building a sandy bridge 2500k rig for mostly gaming @ around $1800-$2000 (give or take) http://www.overclock.net/intel-gener...l#post13610760 <=== first thread

now i am hoping for suggestions. do i go with a sandy bridge anyway? or maybe roll with what i have and upgrade some things?

upgrade to gtx 570, 560ti, or maybe get a second gtx 460 for SLI?

i still really want a vertex 3 or maybe vertex 2 120gb SSD thoughts?

cpu cooler has got to go

it says sabertooth x58 MB but the pic doesnt look like it. what do you think?the ebay page cause i cant figure out how to link the pictures

seller have 0 feedback

if you already paid for it and get the pc, i say it is a good computer, just sell the stock cooler and video card (or keep the card if it performs well for you). use it for a bit and get a feel if you need SSD.

Maybe you'd want to get a 570 for some more heavy-duty stuff... SLI 460 is a dead end, but maybe you don't mind that. Starts to show its age though.

And how are you so sure?It all looks good too me.The seller won't even have access too the money until after the buyer leaves feedback.

It looks like an 8 or 9 hundred dollar pc tops.

Sorry, but when i read that on the box i thought "Is that taking the piss or are people seriously that stupid?"

Nice hardware though, but it's not a supercomputer unless it's watercooled

yea your right its got to be ASUS Rampage II Extreme LGA 1366

i kind of would like sata 3 and usb 3 support. now the question is do i buy a different x58 board or change ram,MB,and cpu to sandy bridge setup. i'm thinking saving the money now and just upgrading the board to another x58 and later down the road go with a sandy bridge-E or ivy bridge 2011 socket board.
