i7 920 (D0) Stuck on overclock! (Pictures Provided)

Thread Starter

These are the settings it's currently on for the 3.0ghz i've managed to get it to.

Even though i have the vid set to 1.275, the core voltage is 1.328 V on CPU-Z. Even though i have EIST / C1E Disabled.

I've tried upping the voltage to 1.3/1.35 with the PLL to 1.9 and VTT to 1.23. I just can't get it to get past BIOS/Boot for the next OC which would be 173 BLK.

Max temps on the 163 BLK is 65 degrees.

Any help would be appreciated immensly. Want to get it up to 4.0ghz :<, Had it at 3.4ghz earlier but for some reason i can't get back up there! (Started a brand new OC, got alot of time today)

Thanks.
- Planty

I would start by setting your memory with the proper timings and then running Memtest86+ to make sure that is not what is causing the trouble.

Edit: Why are you using a multiplier of 19 did you have better luck with that? Have you tried using 21?

Here is a guide if you have not read it yet please do.

Ty, will try that now.

Right, After setting turbo on and the multiplier to 20 it's still at x20, even under load.

The problem is that everyone's rig will overclock differently the only way for you to get to a good stable overclock is though trial and error. If you think someone can just give you settings and be on your way, I am sorry to say that will not work. Expect it to take several days to find a stable overclock.

I'm not asking for some one to give me all the settings, i'm asking for help into getting them settings.

I managed to get my E6750 to 4.0 ghz easily back in the day but i'm just struggling with this!

Understood. Have you tested and set up your memory yet?

Yeah man.

Before installing any OS, memtest at ram stock settings/voltages. But that link he provided has all the information you need for 4.0+.

I kinda wish I can edit my chip's vid. Jelly.
