Quicksync is beneficial for anyone who converts/transcodes a lot of video. From what I can tell from the reviews, the lower the resolution that you are converting/transcoding down to, the better it performs. Basically it uses the IGPU to accelerate conversion and depending on the scenario, the acceleration varies from noticeably faster to significantly faster than dedicated GPU acceleration. In an early test by Tom's Hardware, a quicksync accelerated conversion of a test file took 18 seconds compared to a HD6970 accelerated conversion of the same file taking 72 seconds:

From what I gather from other reviews, it appears that quicksync really shines when converting down to resolutions intended for mobile device viewing.

I own the Z68X-UD4-B3, I got it for $179, loving it so far, to me it was the best bang for the buck board I could of bought.

I have an Asus P8Z68-V Pro coming in soon. Check that board out, it is around the same price as those GB boards. I really wanted to make the switch to a GB board (always recommend the UD series), but I had to go with Asus again

I had to RMA an Asus board, and have had great luck so far with my Z68x-ud4. Got to 4.5 on low volts, all power saving features work great, and it goes to sleep and wakes up perfectly fine. I couldn't ask for more than that from any board.

I highly recommend it.

Phew! I'm about to buy a Z68 UD5 and this boot cycling problem has gotten me worried a bit.

Honestly, I think it is more of a P67 issue than anything else. I am sure some z68 boards may have the issue, but I think it has been tweaked out for the most part. Like I said earlier, I literally couldn't be more pleased with the board so far.

One thing that is pretty dumb is that the sata controllers are all defaulted to IDE instead of AHCI. And when you switch to AHCI, it changes the priority of your hard drives. When I switched it kept telling me "error loading OS" until I realized what it was doing....it was trying to boot from my USB. I changed to order back, and it was fine. Just a small glitch really, but you would think they would have AHCI be the default in this day and age. I know ASUS has AHCI as default for example.
