M4A89gtd realtek problem with windows 7 and maybe CCC 11.5

Yesterday I reassembled my rig by just laying it spread out in a TV stand

I also vacuumed the MB, and use a slightly damp cloth and tooth brush on some little specs of gunk the was here and there on the MB including around realtek sound chip (I since quit alcohol)

When I put it back together, windows 7 wouldn't work, and couldn't repair itself, or do a system restore

So I did complete clean reinstall, and used the ASUS disc for realtek audio 1st, realtek LAN drivers 2nd, restarts fine, CCC later on.

Soon after some restart, this problem again "windows 7 wouldn't work, and couldn't repair itself, or do a system restore"

Now after about the same thing, reinstall...about 5 times, not quite in the same order, I think it might be the realtek audio and maybe CCC11.5 conflicting somehow

The main thing that the repair says about problems is a registry problem

THis time I installed win7, realtek LAN diver, CCC 11.5

I will now install realtek audio driver from the ASUS disk, and I bet I will have to reinstall win7 AGAIN

I never had these problems since rig was built in Jan, and I had 11.5 on it before yesterday, from CCC automatic update

So 2 questions while I test that

1)I have sound without the ASUS realtek audio driver, how nessecesary are they for games...

2) can't remember now

I installed the asus disk realtek audio drivers, and had to reinstall win7

the only problem the repair thing found was "registry corrupt", and it tries to repair it and restore...but fails after a few tries

So this time I reinstalled win7, the asus disk realtek audio, the CCC that came with my 6950, except I unchecked the "HDMI/DP audio drivers"

restarting after each of those...and no problems so far

what a pain in the rear that was, now I'm paranoid that right after I install some games and play for a bit, it'll happen again
