Get the same reference 580 so that they both exaust out the back of your case.

The 800D isn't quite adequate for air cooling as is.

I think I would have gone for a card with a better cooler and used that as the top card, since it gets heated more than the card at the bottom. But it wont matter if you live in a relatively cold place and have a fan blowing air onto the cards.

I don't know of anyone who's posted about having two cards of different 580's and their cooling differences.

I myself am thinking of going SLI soon and my cards will be sandwiched so I'm learning about what others are learning about it. The top naturally runs hotter and I've read anywhere from 5-15C higher. My problem will be the top card will not be breathing any cooler air into it so close together.

I've thought about the MSI GTX 580 TwinFrozrII or Lightning would keep temps cooler if it were on top while the EVGA reference card is on the bottom. The bottom card blows the air out the back and the top MSI card runs a bit cooler normally. Might end up with better temps. It's hypothetical because I've not read anyone was running this set up. I'm thinking the open cooling on the MSI wouldn't trap heat. Natrually you'll being ambient temps inside your case higher but if it's well ventilated you shouldn't incur any problems.

Let us know what you decide and if you do go two different 580's please update your post and let us in on your results.

It's meant for more of space for watercooling, but is compatible with Air cooling if you do some small mods.

Backplate on the EVGA cards are more for protection, and for me cosmetics in my case as well. LOL.

The dual fan one will be cooler. I would get the referenced one though, so that if you wanted to maybe get a waterblock, or after market cooler, you would have more options.

Yes it does look pretty sweet and I prefer my cards to have roll cages...you dont know what kind of off roading the new frostbite engine has in store for us...be prepared bf3 I want you...

And as for cooling goes should I invest in water, it was def a thought as for why I got the case, but I don't know where to start..can I just water cool the cards and worry about the CPU later..I feel the H60 is doing well for a hybrid...the only reason why I am skeptic is because I've read that the 1155 do really get hot and water-cooling is just not worth it..ppl overclocking to 5.0 on air and such..if you can justify I'm all about the water cool dream
