$200 2.1 setup? - Page 2

Save your money and increase your budget. Like around 2x of that, if you want a QUALITY 5.1 setup. If you can't do that, I would just stick with a quality 2.1 setup.

Like Klipsch ProMedia 2.1.
But seriously, throw down all $150 on a set of Swan M10 speakers.

Will the Swan M10's take more punishment than my X-530?

They're $500 and I was expecting OCN to be able to get the same sound for less. All you're paying for is marketing.

Well, part of your issue is that there aren't that many companies making 5.1 systems for PCs. If you want to "get the same sound for less," you need to have somewhere else to get it from. And you'd be hard pressed to convince me that the sound that comes out of the z5500 (a relatively well regarded set of speakers, as PC speakers go) is going to be equaled for $350 less. With quality 2.1 systems going quite happily for $100 more than your budget, I'd say you need to re-evaluate either your desire for surround, or the level of quality you're going to get out of whatever speakers you do find at that price point.

Well, I wasn't really going for Z5500 quality, just something better than what I have. And my actual budget is $250, but everything is so much cheaper in the US, so I have to ask for stuff that's a bit cheaper when asking in here. In the US, those Z5500's would probably be around $350.

Also, I already asked if a 2.1 setup would be more beneficial, but no one's helping me, they just keep repeating Klipsch 2.1. Turns out I can't get Swan M10's either.

If you know anything about sound, I'm looking for speakers for ~€150.

If you liked the X-530 you should definitely take a look at the Logitech X-540. Noticeably better sound and with such a budget I think this is the best you´re going to get.

I picked up mine for around 600 DKK, not sure if you can get them this cheap in Denmark at the moment, though.

EDIT:
Just saw you raised your budget, so just take the above for whatever it´s worth.
