GTX 560 ti 1ghz overclock question

Thread Starter
Benchmark sites have reported being able to reach a core clock speed of 1 Ghz on the 560 ti, though most regular users have only been able to reach 900-950 Mhz.

My question is, is there a noticeable performance increase from 900 Mhz to 1 Ghz?

Also, is there a noticeable performance increase from overclocking the memory clock speed or can I leave it at stock and just focus on the core clock speed?

Hi, i have a gtx 560, at 830 mhz stock speed. icould reach the 1ghz with it, and really, the only difference in benchmarks i have noticed is a low fps gain.
Say we got around 50 or 55 minimum fps, the minimum well take from 3 to 5 fps by in the range from 900 mhz to 950 mhz.
The other noticeable thing is the max fps, but its change is within the same amount.

During game session, i saw improvement for minimum fps in crowded locations.
In some case, its like having an improvement from an older driver to another (IMO).
The gain gives some more comfort, but for more consumption and noise : you have to add some volt (not many if you are lucky ) in order to stabilize the OC, so you know it : more heat, more fan rpm, more noise.
Concerning the memory OCing, made some research, some reviews told there's an improvement, and there at OCN, some users said there's not.

About this, i don't know much yet.

Edit (i thought 1 more thing) : taking those in account, i dont play at max OCed speed i know i could reach, but a little less : 950 mhz

Thanks for the reply, thats actually reassuring. On benchmarks they were reporting like 10-15% performance increase with overclocking. So if I'm lucky enough to get 900-950 Mhz at stock voltage I should just stick with that and be happy.

However should I bother overlcocking the Memory clock speeds as well? I know you only need 1GB of video memory for 1080p and below, but does memory speed still matter?

do not worry about the memory speed.
fact.
and really the memory thing might change in the near future...

Isn't yours factory OC'd @900 core? What's your stock VID?

I've posted this before. I benched different applications at different clock speeds and here's my report:

No it's not. It was 822/1645/2004 just like all the others. The Palit sonic is factory OC'd to 900mhz. Stock vid is 1.012v i downvolted to .950v for stock clocks, and i need 1.075v to maintain my sig OC, mine isn't the best OC'er...especially when I see people say they got to 980mhz @ 1.037v.

Ah, yeah it's a bit of a crap shoot. One of mine did 1GHz on 1.062v, the other wouldn't hold anything over 950 and took 1.087 just to make that stable.
