Vertex 3 not recognized.

Thread Starter
Hey. So I just built a new pc with a p8p67 deluxe mobo and a vertex three SSd. When I boot up and go into the bios the vertex is not detected. Nor is it detected as a possible drive to install windows on. I have tried multiple Sata ports and cables and I see a green light on the back of the ssd. This is a brand new build and I don't have any other comP right now besides my iPhone. Any help?
Thanks

are you using the gray sata ports? vertex 3 SHOULD be compatible with SATA2 ports but you want the vertex 3 on the SATA3 ports for best results. if it isnt showing up in the BIOS try setting the mode to AHCI rather than IDE. other than that I cant really think of why it wouldnt show up.

Hey. The motherboard box says p8p67deluxe b3 revision rev3.0.

You need to use gray port (which is Intel SATA 6Gb/s) on your motherboard for SSD. Also in BIOS SATA must be in AHCI mode, not IDE. I am not familiar with the new BIOS on ASUS boards but you need to find anything which saya "SATA" and set to AHCI. Try changing hard drive priority or something like that.

In the worst case, could you please make a video of your BIOS settings or some pictures of it and put them here?

That is really strange. Let us know how it goes with the new drive.
