I am just so sick of this discussion, its been going on for 8 months now, the last 4 there is something about this everyday...

Developers are just now taking advantage of 2006 architecture so whats the big rush to get these? I honestly dont get it at all and I am an AMD guy.

The OCD about this topic is beyond alarming. I am a huge computer nerd but some people need to get a life instead of rehashing this topic every freaking day.
OCN: the poursuit of performance.

You don't need to able to use power to want it. And what you say is not really true. I'm pretty sure rendering will benefit from many, good, threads.

But I agree with you, people are really involved in this, and it leads to neverending fights on threads like this where basically it's:

-BD will rock!
-BD will not rock!
and some poor guy in the middle:
-let's just wait & see, okay?

they want to totaly annihilate and smoke sb and be ready for ivy bridge. remember that ivy will be 22nm cpu. those things will get 4.2 GHz at no sweat.

I wasn't really stoked about bulldozer before but if any of the crap I seen in the last two months is even remotely true i may trade in my hexacore for a dozer quad if it can outperform it. May go dozer hexa but I think that would really be overkill from my current chip.

also BD is a sb (1155)/ivy bridge competitor. for sb-e amd will be having something else but those are far plans and maybe they will fight with succesor of sb-e.
I know what BD is supposed to be competing against, what is the relevance in stating that?

So what you are tying to tell me is that these octo cores are actually quad cores with "hyper threading". So how is that better then SB?

Just google Bulldozer architecture. You'll have your answer.

better data management and computing, its all out there in web. BD got lots of better ideas then sb. for example hardware ht.

All I want is for Bulldozer to inch closer to SB or Ivy (or maybe surpass? lol). It's annoying to hear SB left and right.

Why do some people want Bulldozer to be bad?
