Update OCZ Vertex 3 firmware? - Page 4

Some of those people over at OCZ need to be slapped. Cables? lol

I am using the exact same highly over clocked, windows settings, cables etc and with 2.02 my drives are running perfectly. 2.06 Is the ONLY variable and I would have had about 20 BSODS by now in the time my 2.02 system has been running great.

You have no idea how much I hope my RMA replacement comes with 2.02 firmware!!
And yeah, a good slapping would do the trick, hahaha. I bet their head office is just telling them to delay us with cheap excuses that only 1% to 2% are affected and to try useless procedures that will no doubt make most of us wait another two to three days before a BSOD appears or it hangs/freezes. Just enough time for them to hopefully finish a firmware update.

Am I the only one having issues with the 2.02 Firmware? Personally, since I have issues with the 2.02 I would think that there is a hardware problem that affects a number of the Vertex 3 drives and that the problem is aggravated with the 2.06 firmware. But hey, what do I know...

I received my RMA replacement today, though, and it was dead on arrival - nothing I do makes the SSD be detected, just in the BIOS, sometimes...
I have no idea what firmware is on it since I can't get OCZ Toolbox to see it. I decided to ask OCZ for another RMA but this time for a full refund. I've had it with this thing!
Once they confirm, I will buy a Crucial M4 128GB SSD.

Yeah already got my RMA ready to go(for full refund), just waiting till my M4 get's delivered tomorrow before I send it out. Had enough. Even though I can go for few days no freezes I just always end up with one.

It's frustrating as hell, isn't it?
Worse still is the support and the endless bickering without solutions. I want OCZ to confirm they will refund me the SSD before I make an order. There should be no problem as even staff from the OCZ forums have asked users if they wanted a full refund "to move on" (as they say).

My first ticket asking for refund they told me they aren't a reseller so they can't give me a refund. I PM'd RyderOCZ and told him what the ticket said, and like few minutes later I get another response to ticket saying send address and invoice for refund. I got a feeling I'll get back a replacement drive not a check$$$ back. We'll see in two weeks.

Thanks for the update. My ticket should be answered by tomorrow - let's see what they say initially. If they don't offer one, I will ask RyderOCZ as well. I wonder whether it was RyderOCZ that did the job immediately or whether the staff who answered your ticket realised they could offer one under the circumstances. Either way, I definitely want a refund. My reseller probably won't give me one since the 30 days have passed and because my current drive is an RMA'ed one and not the one I originally bought.

Got my M4 today. Up and running good. The firmware update .iso was a breeeeze unlike the OCZ crap.

Good to hear. I'm really looking forward to working with the Crucial M4 SSD. I just really want to get a refund confirmation before I buy anything even though there's no way I'm simply accepting this Vertex 3 SSD for keeps...!!
