Very frustrating when you fork over so much money for the drive.

My vertex got BSOD after 60 hours, so I have to patch it to 2.11
So both drives now are 2.11, MSAHCI
The benchmark seems ok on ATTO 2.34 550read/400-500write
Both PCs run for 16 hrs ok so far.

I patched to 2.11 and overnight (I was only asleep for 7 hours) it got a BSOD.

What do you mean by MSAHCI??
I am running in AHCI mode in BIOS.

My friend has the exact same issue as me and he is running nearly exact same build.... same Motherboard (Asus Maximus IV Genez) but he is using a Corsair Force 3 120GB.
Though he gets the BSOD less often then me, but still once every 48hours.

MSACHI means he is using the achi drivers built into windows 7.

Most motherboards come with a version of Intel's RST achi drivers to be installed after windows is up and running.

MSAHCI = Standard AHCI 1.0 Serial ATA Controller

Both my PCs are Gigabyte Z68 MB with Award BIOS F1 18/04/2011
I try not update the BIOs to support Intel RST 10.6 as recommended by OCZ support and I have not clear my CMOs yet.
And look like this it not just OCZ problem but the newer sandbridge?

So far they are ok for 38 hrs

Yes I think it is the new sandybridge as it is not only the OCZ Vertex 3 but also the new Corsair SSD's aswell.

Since I installed the 2.11 Fw for my vertex3, had 3 BSODs... in three days.
Approx 4am for the first two BSOD's (Fri/Sat morning) then just now at 10PM sunday night.

During this time my friend running the Corsair has not had one for about 4days. So hes feeling lucky.

OCZ and Sandforce keep saying p67 is the cause. Yet we have lots of AMD board users and laptop users having the same thing happen.

Did you clear cmos by removing the battery or shorting the jumpers on your board? I've been stable for awhile with 2.11 (knock on wood) but I did a secure erase, fresh install and cmos clear.

Apology for waking up a dormant thread.
I am having problems updating, it seems the Linus solution and the OCZ Toolbox is of no help.

Have there been any positive fixes from OCZ ? There current FW is suppose to be v2.15 but I just cannot find a Download, full stop.

I don't mind waiting for updates if it is possible to fix the issues, but what if these issues cannot be fixed ?

Can anyone here offer a solution/link to resolve these issues without having to climb up and down Mount Everest ?

I just popped the drive into a eSata enclosure and flashed the 2.15 update using my HTPC. No BSOD's since then and recognizes it at boot every time now.

You don't need to install windows to a second drive. It's much easier to use a USB flash drive.

Just download the linux distro from the OCZ support website, and use Universal USB Installer to put it on a USB flash drive.

Boot to the flash drive and double-click the update firmware icon on the desktop.
