No offense bud, but that link is BS.

They also claim to be the quietest card too. Now, I dont work for a computer manufacturing company or a rating company, but I have a vid card with passive cooling with is guaranteed quieter.

The reason why the 590 has those bad vrm's is because they probably ran out of their budget price point, in other terms when the 6990 came out, they wanted to match their price point.

If the gtx 590 did come out first, than it would of probably been around 950 to 1000 dollars and would of had better components and oc like crazy.

Anyway, expect to see oc like crazy with the gtx 595 asus rog card when it comes out. Than you can truly compare the 2 cards.

Besides, when Powercolor 6970x2 comes out, it will have the new LUCID chip and as far as I had heard it will enable it to have any other gpu card along with the 6970x2, so you could just get the 6970x2 and an asus gtx 595 MARS II and have all the goodies of both NVIDIA and AMD.
GTX595? What? You mean the 580x2? There is no 595. Also, Champions go Nvidia? You've fallen for nVidia's marketing scheme, just like people fall for AMDs "TRUE QUADCORE" thing they are pulling STILL. Remember when 5870/5970s were world champions until the GTX580 came out?

What I am trying to say is that when Asus Rog Mars II or also know as 580x2 comes out, than you can compare with a 6990 because the Mars II will have a lot more vrm's than the original nvidia gtx 590.

Besides, isn't the 2 gpu's on one board getting old already, when will I see 3 or 4 gpu's on one pcb?

You can't compare the 580x2. That is just ASUS doing it, it's going to cost around 1200 USD, and is going to be better than what a normal 590 with better VRMs anyways. VRMs only cost like 2 dollars each.

When was that? the 480 was holding the records for single gpu until the 580 came out. 5970 was faster, but was dual gpu...

False. The 5870 held it for near 6+ months. The 5970 was faster, but HWbot still sees it as 1 GPU I believe.

Radeons were pretty good in 3dmark 03 (can't remember if they held the record or not), 480 held the records in the all the others though...
Dual gpu cards are always counted as 2 gpu on the bot.

You said 580 in your post above, when you meant the 480, as that was the card that took the title from the 5870, not the 580

No, you should compare them now. The MARS II will be a custom Asus construction, and is going to be FAR more expensive than a 6990.

The proper apples-to-apples comparison is the 590 vs the 6990, the top of the line reference cards from each brand.
