New Intel Build Having Odd "Freeze"

Thread Starter
Hey all - Just finished up my third build (specs below). I'm having an odd issue that's got me stumped.

Every so often, maybe once or twice an hour, the computer will "freeze" but I can still move the mouse and click. The HDD light will be on during this period. It can last from 30 seconds to several minutes. Sometimes the computer will un-freeze and resume whatever it was doing. Any ideas on things I should check for, or troubleshoot? Help is much appreciated!

Just to be sure run a memtest stability test outside of windows and maybe even HDTUNE to be sure its not the RAM or HDD. Did it do this when you stuff was at stock clocks? How long did you ruin the stress tests on the rig by chance? Dont think unstable CPU would cause this sounds like a SSD/HDD issue IMO. Instability would give you a total freeze up and/or BSOD.
