ASUS Maximus IV Extreme - (EA error) S3 Resume Boot Script Error

Hey guys,

I just came back from doing some stuff around the house and right as I sit at my PC, it fades to black just like it's going into sleep mode. The monitor turns into power-saver mode, so I wiggle the mouse and nothing happens. I look at the motherboard and realize that the 2 error LED's are lit up: EA. In the manual it says S3 Resume Boot Script Error. I tried turning it off/on, pressing the reset button, turning the PSU off/on, but it still won't boot. The BIOS screen doesn't even come up. What can I do to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

All right now that's just weird. I tried it for the 5th time and it resumed and everything was opened like I left it, even after resetting the board, and turning off the PSU. o.O

Will post back if any other problems arise.

Turn off Internal PLL Overvoltage, and that won't happen again. Or if you're using cpu multiplier that does not need overvoltage to work, set it to "disabled" instead of "Auto". Auto seems to enable it by "Best guess" after a certain multiplier, regardless of if the CPU needs it or not.

If you insist on using sleep, and PLL Overvoltage enabled, set the BIOS to use S1 instead of S3.

I know people seem to worship sleep or something these days, but it makes you wonder how they ever managed to use a computer 10 to 20 years ago?

I guess it's like cell phones...take them away and people have no idea how to live their lives....
