If I were you I'd use it for iTunes. Hook it up to some nice speakers (not that the output will be amazing, but fairly good for the price [i.e, free ] ) , and you could have a great 24/7 system for music!

Nice fix. You may do better with an older version of macOS since most of the apps designed for that kind of hardware are going to be older versions. Well worth it for farcebook browsing and music playing.

Guys a 1.9 Ghz G5 is a nice machine! Plenty of power for all but the power user. Give it to your mom or dad, my dad loves his eMac.

He got something for free, that is what you should be discussing.
Actually, if I may make the suggestion, I think this thread is in the wrong section and should therefore be moved. He is talking about the hardware and how much it is worth and yet the thread is in the

"Software, Programming and Coding > Operating Systems > Mac >"

Anyway, on-topic:

Yep, agreed. Free is free. There is always something you can do with it. Use it as a music system, connected to your sound system, for example, or use if for web browsing, office apps, or even as a TV for your room (provided you have an external USB tuner), etc.

Oh, by the way, since it's kind of old, and I have a friend with a similar Mac that makes a lot of noise even while just browsing the web, I suggest you, just like I suggested to my friend, remove the heatsink and clean the old thermal paste and apply a new thin layer of a quality one.

Cheers!
