Quick question about my friend's load temps

My friend isn't really experienced with PC's but he managed to get a Hyper 212+ installed in his rig. He has an i7-950 @ stock speeds.

He says his load temps are in the high 50's when running Prime 95, and mid 30's when idling.

Does this sound about right? I only know AMD temps since I use AMD CPU's, and my 965 BE runs at low 30's idle, high 40's load, so i just wanted to make sure.

I have no experience with that cooler or the first gen i7's but I do know that Intel chips do run hotter than an AMD chips.

High 50s at load with a stock i7-950 and the 212+ sounds about right.

I used to have a 212+ on my 950 and I'd hit the low 60s with a mild overclock at 1.14v at load, so I'd say high 50s for stock would be about where it should be taking over things into consideration like airflow inside the case, one or two fans on the heatsink, etc.

I don't see anything there to be overly worried about.

You should be ok. High 70's low 80's is where it gets bad.
