But im going to say NO. i want two GTX 580,s. Is it overkill maybe? But this is OCN, we dont believe in overkill , but we always seem to try to talk others out of it?? ( why is that)
We have 'king of the hill' syndrome.

True, plus I want to run BF3 on max with like 60+ min

That's true.

Lol.
I would sure take two 6970's at 1080P. I bet you can max Metro and Crysis/warhead with high texture mods pretty easily with all that horsepower. I'm saving up to buy two flagship GPU's from Kepler or AMD whichever is top dog, So I also can have fun in 1080P with Crysis High texture mods.

Bah, "overkill" lasts until the next intensive thing is out. Better to have the extra firepower and keep it going.

Considering you can just buy a higher resolution monitor to go with it, I would not call it overkill.

It's only OCN syndrome when you take an uber expensive overkill CF set up, pawn it off for near nothing at next generation of Graphics Card releases =).

I'm still rocking 5870 from September 09, and just ordered one of the few still new ones for 160$ =D, So I figure I'm good till ATI's 8XXX or 9XXX, Really looking forward to 9XXX or Nvidia's equiv (8XX?) since there is spos to be an exponential jump in Gflops

I really do not think it is overkill. I am running 2x HD 5770's overclocked with a GTS450 for PhysX on a single 20" monitor at 1600x900. I hold around 500-600FPS in COD4 maxed and around 130 in BC2. It always good to have plenty of headroom in my opinion. But if you wallet can't handle it you really don't need it.
