Is my ssd slower than average? Im afraid that my ssd is not optomized what steps should i take to ensure maxium performance with it?

That's entirely dependent on which model you have.

Edit: I'm assuming it's one of these? In which case, it looks fairly normal. The speeds that they say on packaging usually aren't entirely exact, so this looks pretty normal to me.

Accidentally running in AHCI mode can greatly hamper your performance with an SSD. Make sure you are not doing that.

i used to but that problem was once i cleared my cmos and it forgot my raid array ans it was much too much trouble for me to deal with to rebuild my array and rewrite everything so now i just run one

more like one of these its a vertex 2

I reset my ocz ssd using this method http://www.ocztechnologyforum.com/fo...d-Click-Method and then did a clean install using this guide http://www.overclock.net/ssd/ssd/ssd...p-secrets.html and it helped alot....drive is alot snappier....also win experience went from 6.9 to 7.4 here is my atto which is the recommended benchmark tool.They say that running as ssd will degrade performance of ocz ssd's

yes you would lose trim and yes they would gradually degrade. The method i posted above is ocz recommended to restore to factory performance
