Looking for an Upgradable water cooling setup recommendation

Thread Starter
Hey guys, im looking to go custom water this month and could use a recommendation for a water cooling setup that I can upgrade later, I want to get the cpu cooled first, and down the line (month, maybe month and a half) get the gpu blocks for my 6990s and get them water cooled as well. If you could post complete builds, preferably ones you've used or had experience with. I've got a Corsair Obsidian 800d case and would like to(have to because ive got a 1 year old son) keep everything inside the case. Thanks a lot for all the help and input.

Regards
Khalam

The rasa kit is always a great place to start, since you have an 800d, i'd suggest getting the rx360 rasa kit. Then, when you want to add your 6990's, you'll want to get another rx360 rad to strap on the back of your case, and you might need to upgrade the pump at that point. But, it's best to just keep the pump and try it out, it might be enough.

Good luck with your first custom loop!

Well, if you've got the cash, then you can definitely go all out.

In that case I would suggest:
EK supreme HF
XSPC RX360
Swiftech MCP35x
Any reservoir

That will get you started, then when you want to add the 6990's, i'd get:
2 x 6990 blocks
XSPC RX360
Maybe a crossfire connector? Not too familiar with those being a single card guy.

I wouldn't recommend getting the EK supreme HF because of the EK nickel block thing going on atm, i recommend you get the xspc 370 for CPU...
Everything else looks fine

I had a couple ek nickel blocks when I first started water cooling early this year, nothing was wrong with them for the month or so I used them. However, there is nothing wrong with their copper blocks, so those are a safe bet.

I meant a connector that goes between the card's water blocks to connect them together, not the actual crossfire ribbon cable.

Something else you will need is enough barbs and clamps for each block, tubing(I personally use 7/16 tubing and 1/2 barbs), distilled water, and a killcoil.

All I know for the UK are some e-tailers I hear good things about. I hear specialtech is good, and watercoolinguk. I personally have no experience with either of them though, living in the states.
