Time To Upgrade!!

Thread Starter
Hi All,

I was not planing to make that upgrade, at least for now, but when my UD7 died, i made my mind and start the new upgrade..

As you can see in the below pictures, this is my old Gigabyte 3d Mercury, and i think this case with the MODS i made it serve me as good as it should be for about 2 years.. So its the time for replacing it..

I am focusing at the Cooler master HAF X, for the good air and lots of space.

My main upgrade will be:

- 950 cpu - 2600k (360 Rad with Rasa Block)
- X58A UD7 - 1155 UD7
- 3d Mercury Case - HAF X
- SLI 285 - SLI (580 OR 570) soon (No watercooling)

My main concern is Should i fix the 360 rad inside or should i go the same of my old way (Outside the case)?

I am planning to keep one of my 285 as Physx with the main GPUs.

Also i know that cable management is SUCK, but i will arrange ever thing in the new case..

Do you think that the aluminium reservoir which i have good or should i change it also..

I like always to share you guys before i step and further step without you appreciate advices..

Thank you

That classic Gigabyte Mercury was a cool case in it's time. I recall looking at them years ago when I was sizing up a new case.

The HAF X would be a great replacement. But have a look at the HAF 932 as well if you want to save a few bucks on the cost. Both cases offer great water cooling provisions, the HAF Club forum linked below has several examples of rad mounting, in various HAF cases.

Well the 800d is better for water cooling than air cooling people say.
The HAF is goof for air like its name.
But you seem to say you are NOT watercooling or are you, your first post says you are not.

If the HAF X is the case you like, then go for it!
Doesn't matter if you are going with air cooling or water, the HAF X will be suitable for both.
