Stupid annoying memory issues

Thread Starter
So. A little back story. Bought new board, RAM wouldn't run at the speeds and timings it would before with the new board. Same CPU, same overclock. Bought new RAM. Still having issues. I have solved the system not booting problem by raising the CPU-NB voltage to 1.3v (default was 1.175v) - However, the UEFI reports the RAM is in Single-Channel mode at anything over 1333mhz. And windows says 4GB (2GGB usable) like so:

Notice the CPU-Z screen detects all the memory just fine. Maxmem is not checked in msconfig. I've tried it all stock settings as well and it still happens. (In the screen it shows 1.74GB because I'm sharing 256Mb with the integrated graphics)

These sticks are rated for 6-8-6-24-2T/1.6v. I can run them at those timings on 1333Mhz, but not 1600Mhz. Obviously I want to fix this. I've also ordered another kit of this RAM for other reasons (My studies will require virtual machines) and I'll probably have issues running four sticks as well...

So yeah, any suggestions?

CPU IMC limitation.
Use the 1333 and make sure they are installed in the correct slots to have dual channel.Use the default unganged in BIOS.
If the RAM is not AMD tested you may not be able to hit the advertised timings and clocks.1600 Mhz is not for your Athlon CPU.
Also do test each stick with Memtest for several hours to make sure they are good.

The Windows score is equal to the lowest you have. That RAM should have like around 7 rating.

To have access to more RAM disable on-board video and some other periferic stuff in BIOS.They all have memory reserved by the BIOS when they are enabled and they "eat" from whats available in Windows.

The windows score means nothing, I used it to show the problem with the memory. I have tried all combinations of settings. 1600 and higher worked fine on my old board. Which was for a kit "optimised for intel" and so is my current kit, apparently. Memtest 86+ overnight confirms stability, which I have done.

The 4GB (2GB) usable issue only arises when I run the memory at 1600. At 1333 it's fine and shows the full amount, minus the amount I set for video memory. It's a 64-bit OS and I really see no reason why it should do this.

Do you have "memory hole remapping" enabled in the BIOS?
I wouldn't understand why only part of the RAM shows up at higher speed, I would think it is more BIOS issue than memory issue

There's no such option as far as I can see. It's a newish board I guess but the BIOS has already been through versions 1.1, 1.2 and 1.4 which is what I'm on currently. Is there any other name that option might be under?

Did you not get the issue with the earlier BIOS revisions? Reverting might work
I don't know of any alternate names for "Memory hole remapping"

I've had the problem ever since the new board. From the 1.10 which the board shipped with and that's the earliest release available on the website. 1.20 updated CPU code and 1.40 made the EFI usable on 800x600 screens. The latest BETA version is for improved power saving. Here's a link:

It's got me stumped.

Your Athlon CPU IMC can t do 1600 Mhz no matter what BIOS you use.Buy a Phenom with a newer revision.Keep in mind you are using 2500 for NB speed also.
