Retail key with OEM disk? - Page 2

Rip the disk and create a bootable USB installer. On the USB, browse to /Sources/ei.cfg and change the channel from OEM to Retail.
Install from USB, activate as normal.

Actually you can. Just use this MS tool:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/w...ne/product-key

It's like the "change product key" option you would get in the System Properties window of Vista and 7.

I've used the above tool a couple of time myself.

he's got the right key but not the right config in the efi file. So that won't help

I used OEM disk of Win7 and retail key no problem. Already reinstalled couple of times.
