Also the only way the GTX 580 gets 40-50fps in Crysis is if you crank it up to 2560x1600 and/or have a CPU bottleneck. Check any reputable GTX 580 review.
Really?

Last time I checked Crysis was all about GPU.

I however agree with the first part of his post, it is poorly coded, and this in a sense is relevant with the game being regarded as a benchmark.
The only thing I care about is people, be they mods or mere mortals, derailing a thread by mindlessly bashing the game for no apparent reason other than to TROLL. Jeez, maybe I should be the mod?

60 FPS is trash anyway. 120 FPS or bust.
60 MINIMUM FPS with every setting maxed out is not only stupid; it's ridiculous. Completely unecessary. Tweak some settings and you wouldn't be able to tell the difference anyway.

Now that's an epeen you can hold on to. I stopped playing tho cause the game is so broken.
Was meant as a joke. I don't doubt your claim, playing Crysis on my old HD 2400 was very much possible. So a 5770 would definitely be sufficient for decent frames.

maybe but i still want 60 minimum because even 50 feels laggy to me (i don care what anybody has to say i can feel it lagging)
if 2 580's isn't enough for 60 minimum I'll get 2 EVGA GTX 590's instead and run quad sli.

current build in the making

50 is not lag. Once you run under 30 you can notice "lag".

You will simply experience the game as a bit slower under 60, but definitely not laggy. You don't need quad SLI to get minimum 60 FPS. Tweak the settings and you will be able to run the game on lower specs while it will still look just as good.

I'd rather look into 6990 + 6970. Crushes 580 SLI for the same price. 6xxx cards also runs Crysis a fair bit better than Nvidia cards.

I would agree with this, 6990 plus 6970 tri fire is better for the money. Although if you have the cash, go ahead and go with the tri sli 580 3GB. Those will absolutely smash Crysis and any other game at 1080P with plenty of VRAM.

If you can afford quad sli, more power to ya, I say. Personally idk how the eff you can tell the difference between 55 and 60 fps in-game, but it'll be a sweet rig, nonetheless.
