Verizon FioS is so fast!!!!! - Page 4

Another note...If you have FIOS have them convert your connection from COAX to CAT5 and use your own router...MUCH better speeds and rock solid reliability. It is like a free upgrade. I have my FIOS ONT box on the side of the house taking my fiber and turning it straight in to CAT5 straight into my router. It is beautiful.

50 Megabytes per second broken down into other units to show how fast said connection really is: http://web.forret.com/tools/bandwidt...50&unit=MB%2Fs

Basically, you could download both "Band of Brothers" and "The Pacific" torrents in less than an hour.

I have 1.2mb/s down and .4 mb/s up. God I hate dsl.
Here's to hoping college Internet is much faster.
Fios isn't a possibility and I cannot get other members of my household to upgrade to ATT's fastest plan.

Netflix and YouTube HD are your friend. I'd be watching all of the newest action films and checking out longplay gameplay videos on YouTube. Such as MGS4.

For those that are wondering about a cap.
There is no cap for Verizon FiOS users.

The download speeds you see on speedtest.net are MegaBITs per second. Divide that number by 8 and you get megaBYTEs per second. Hence why I have different numbers inside the parentheses in my post.

1 megabit = 0.125 megabytes

It really bothers me how never once will an ISP worker tell you there's a difference between Mbps and MBps. And God forbid you ever ask them if there is a difference, they will either look at you like you have two heads or tell you they are the same thing.

EDIT: Just noticed Verizon offers a 150/35 service.
